Tuesday’s Travel Tip: Portable Luggage Scale

0 14 Comments

Nothing’s more embarrassing than being “that guy” at the airline check-in counter, frantically pulling clothes out of your checked-luggage and stuffing them into your carry-on in order to avoid “over-weight” baggage fees. These days most airlines are charging exorbitant fees for bags that weigh over 50 lbs (23 kg). How ridiculous is it that my 53 pound suitcase was going to cost $100 to check?

This Christmas I received the perfect stocking stuffer—a portable luggage scale. It easily clips onto the handle of your suitcase or backpack, and then you just lift the whole thing off the ground. A large digital display tells you how heavy your bag is. It’s very compact and portable, so you can bring it along with you on your trip and then re-weigh your baggage before you head home. I cannot wait to try it out! You can get one on Amazon through the StruxTravel Store, just click this link!
