One of the funniest things I’ve seen on my travels happened at Iguazu Falls National Park in Argentina. While eating our (overpriced) cafeteria lunches, an intrepid coati snuck up onto the table and stole my sandwich right off the tray!
These South American relatives of the raccoon are omnivorous scavengers that will eat just about anything they can get their paws on. Although they are wild animals, the coatis at the park became so familiar with tourists that they seemed almost domesticated.
