If you love to travel as much as I do—and happen to be in the L.A. area this weekend—be sure to check out the 15th Annual Los Angeles Times Travel Show. More than five hundred exhibitors will be downtown at the Convention Center showcasing incredible travel destinations, attractions, activities, resorts, products and services. There will be vacation giveaways and plenty of live entertainment too. From scuba diving to safaris, wind surfing to wine tasting, this event is the biggest travel expo in the country.
Throughout the weekend, celebrity guests like Rick Steves, Arthur Frommer, Phil Koeghan (host of Emmy Award-winning “The Amazing Race”), Rudy Maxa, actor/writer Andrew McCarthy, and many others will be on hand giving lectures on travel-related topics. There will also be many industry experts, including The Times Travel staff, sharing their insights on finding the best deals and getting the most out of your vacation. You’ll learn how to take travel photos like a pro, how to budget for all types of trips, and you’ll even get a first look at the latest travel products available.
A variety of exciting activities are planned for niche interests this year, too. The Travel in Style Pavilion will feature displays, galleries, and interactive experiences to transport you to your ultimate dream destinations; the Xtreme Adventure Zone is the destination for active vacationers, thrill seekers, and outdoor adventurers; the Culinary Stage will feature enticing tastes from around the globe; and the Explore LA area will equip you for the ultimate “stay-cation.”
