The Los Angeles Times Travel & Adventure Show

Los Angeles Times Convention CenterIf you love to travel as much as I do, and happen to be in the L.A. area this weekend, be sure to check out the Los Angeles Times Travel & Adventure Show. More than five hundred exhibitors will be downtown at the Convention Center showcasing incredible travel destinations, attractions, activities, resorts, products and services. There will be vacation giveaways (like exotic trips to Bali, Belize, China, and Costa Rica) and plenty of live entertainment too. From scuba diving to safaris, wind surfing to wine tasting, this event is the biggest travel expo in the entire country.

Throughout the weekend, celebrity guests Samantha Brown, Rick Steves, Huell Howser, Arthur Frommer, and actor/writer Andrew McCarthy will be on hand giving lectures on travel-related topics. There will also be many industry experts, including The Times Travel staff, sharing their insights on finding the best deals and getting the most out of your vacation. You’ll learn how to take travel photos like a pro, how to budget for all types of trips, and you’ll even get a first look at the latest travel products available.

A variety of exciting activities are planned for attendees of the Travel & Adventure Show to participate in too, including scuba lessons, climbing on a 25’ tall rock wall, “steer” roping, and (what I’m most excited to try) zip lining high above the show floor. Musical and dance troupes from Taiwan, India, Ireland, Australia, Japan, the Middle East and Brazil will provide entertainment all weekend long. Finally, there will also be workshops teaching Bollywood step dancing, Thai boxing, belly dancing and Flamenco.

I will be there on Saturday morning, and will post some photos early next week!
