I woke up at the crack of dawn this morning in order to visit the Los Angeles Flower Market. I’d just bought my first digital SLR camera (with birthday money) so figured what better way to test it out than in a place overflowing with color?
The largest flower district in the entire United States, the vendors of The LA Flower Market sell pretty much every type of flower known to man, importing them from all over the world. Plus, they sell at wholesale prices so you’re bound to get a great bargain too. I went home with a bouquet of red gladioli and blue hydrangeas for less than $10.
Open to the public M/W/F – 8 a.m. to noon; Tu/Th/Sat – 6 a.m. to noon. Admission is $2 every day except on Saturday when it’s only $1. (754 Wall St. between 7th & 8th Streets; 213/622-1966) Here’s a handy map.
Here are some of my best photos:
Flower markets are beautiful! The variety of sweet aromas and combination of beautiful colors is very pleasing to the eye. 😀
